I am trying to put the date with currentdate into a cookie (also with time but same problem)

When I look in the cookie preferences from the browser I see "currentdate" instead of the real date the cookie is set. I also tried {CurrentDate}

something else: Is it possible to make an if statment that shows "(new)" in the search results when someone didn't saw it yet or when I set a new cookie the old cookie won't be used?

has this to do with Filemaker 4.1?

I think you should try this:

Make an (unstored!) calculation field, with the formula

=status(CurrentDate), and use that field as the reference.

Seems to me the result of the calculation should be 'text'.
