Stock cutting solution

Featured Replies

Good day to all,

I am looking for a plug-in or a Filemaker solution to integrate it into our existing Filemaker solution to be able to make the best cut out of available inventory based on an order submitted. It will be both 1D and 2D cuts.

Imagine we have different sizes of plates and pipes in available inventory of our factory, A client put a specific order for specific sizes of cuts. We need to know which materials should be selected from inventory and how should they be cut to get the less wast possible.

For example, we have steel plates with below sizes as raw materials:

Quantity Lenght       Width      Thickness

 53       2000 mm X 6000 mm X 2 mm

 180      4000 mm X 6000 mm X 2 mm

 23       2800 mm X 6000 mm X 3mm

and pipes with below dimensions:

Quantity Lenght    Diameter  Thickness

 48         6000 mm X 100mm X 2mm

 726000 mm X 140mm X 2mm

 100         4000 mm X 100mm X 4mm

A customer puts an order for quantity of 550 of plates with dimensions of 100 mm X 235 mm X 2 mm plus quantity of 550 of pipes with dimensions of 100 mm X 235 mm X 2 mm. We need the solutionto calculate which raw plate and pipe should but cut from the list to have least wast.

I believe they call it "Stock Cutting Program", I t would work for us even if it is a stand alone software which can read/write data from/on  Filemaker database.

Warm regards,

Siroos
