I’m excited to share a proof of concept that combines FileMaker’s capabilities with the power of advanced AI—specifically, integrating Llama 3.2 Vision for image-based semantic search in a portable, offline Docker setup. Here’s what this means for us as developers, and why this is a potential game-changer for our FileMaker applications. Why This Proof of Concept Matters Portable, Offline AI Solution This setup runs Llama 3.2 Vision (an AI model that can understand and search images based on content) entirely in Docker, making it self-contained and portable. Because it’s offline, it’s ideal for clients who require data to stay wi…

Hey all, We have been playing with OpenAI as much as I imagine many of you have been, and built an internal test file to process PDF documents and analyze them with OpenAI's chat engine. We dropped a quick video up on YouTube showing what we're doing and thought I'd share it here in case anybody's interested in taking a look. We're pretty excited about what's possible with this kind of technology, and I'm glad to field any questions anyone has.

The task at hand was finding an API for one of our clients that could provide a comprehensive list of their clients stores. The goal was to cross-reference this with our database, ensuring each store was accounted for. Despite my efforts, the search came up empty. However, their website presented an intriguing alternative: a detailed directory segmented by state and country. My initial approach was to examine the website's HTML, yet this only yielded the default data. Attempts to append the URL to load data from different countries proved futile. The website's dropdown appeared to use JavaScript to pull varying data sets. My initial assumption was that each selection…
