  1. I'm converting: From: a FileMaker 11 solution with ~6000 images stored in regular container fields by reference to a folder structure on the same server, same drive. To: a FileMaker 13 / Server 13 solution with images in SuperContainer. Question: Is there a procedure for mass-migrating all the existing images to a new SuperContainer system? I want the images to be available easily to iOS clients of the main server.
  2. Actually, what worked was: 1) uninstall FMS10. Turn on Apache using Server Preferences, web pane 2) Restart the Server 3) Install FMS10 At that point WebServer Deployment worked. At least for the most part. New Problem: installed a newer version of php prior to Installing FMS10, so in the install process I chose not to overwrite the newer php. Upon completing Web Server Deployment, FMS10 acts as if it sees it, but in fact php is disabled. http:localhost/test.php gives the result "Off". Apache is running, FMS10 is running, php is off. How to turn php on? In Snow Leopard Server.
  3. Similar problem. Installed FMS10.2 from downloaded installer on a new mac mini w/ Snow Leopard Server but Apache wasn't turned on yet, and Web Server Deployment failed. Turned on Apache, tested, found good. Tried Web Server Deployment again, failed again. FM files are being served just fine. Apache is serving just fine. What's the current best procedure for correcting this? Something to do with the Apache config file? Do I really need to uninstall and reinstall FMS10.2? If so, what's the sequence? Note: this is a replacement server for the current one. It temporarily has the same host name (bobs-cabin.com) as the live server until testing is complete and we switch the DNS over and retire the old one. Is that an issue? Thanks in Advance, Bob Harlow
  4. What are the commands to back up all files? Mac OS 10.5.8
  5. FileMaker Server Admin Console has stopped communicating with FMServer 10 on a remote Mac Mini 1.87Ghz Intel Dual Core running OS 10.5.8. Since April 11, it has not written a log entry, or run any of the automatic nightly or weekly schedules. The files are still being served, except that yesterday service stopped unexplainedly for two hours, and spontaneously returned. I cannot currently send a message to users, or close a file or files, or run a backup schedule, or Stop Database Server. I've put the app in the trash and re-downloaded it from http:localdisk:16000, to no avail. I've tried downloading a copy to a local machine using http://serveripnumber:16000, with the same non-results. I'm afraid to restart the MacMini without a brand new backup, for fear of corrupting files that are not backed up. Serious situation! What's the best way out? Bob Harlow bob@harlow.com
