Hello,
I found a couple of older posts about this but they haven't been addressed and so I'm posting this. I have uploaded my database onto a hosting server and discovered that images that I have placed in container field do not show, when selected via a pull-down menu. E.g. I select a certain item in filed A and in a separate field B the referring picture of that item shows. While this works at my desktop it doesn't work in IWP when I log into the database.
Thanks in advance...
Andy
Thank you comment! I now remember that I also switched the settings from admin to guest which probably causes the file to show no access. How do I get out of this misery if I can't change any settings within the file? I'm trying different things here currently....
Hello Forum,
I haven't been here in a long time but recently started modifying my FM 10 database and have now encountered a problem that I can't solve. I'm unable to remember what I may have done to cause this (I think I had created an opening script that locks and hides the status line) but when I now open my file the screen turns grey and only shows <NO ACCESS>, almost all menu functions are disabled (e.g. can't get into script manager) and I'm also unable to repair the file.
Does anyone know how I can manage to open my file? I have attached it to this posting.
Thanks,
Andy
OK, I'm sold on the record issue, especially by thinking about adding possible other questions to the survey.
As for the IWP I'm ready to get into FM Server and try my luck with PHP or XML which should offer me more flexibility. In the meantime creating my own scripted buttons for IWP is what I'll work on. Thanks so far!
Thanks, I have tried that and what happens is that the negative color change doesn't appear anymore but what happens instead is when you click into the field to trigger the script a white box appears, even though the field is transparent. I'll keep playing...
As to the above topic: I have imported the same button picture onto my layout but without assigning any function to it, went back to browse mode and clicked the picture, no turn into negative color happnes! As soon as I assign the setup to the button (goto layout...) it starts changing the color, no matter if I put an as button functioning transparent rectangle over it or not. So the color change must be directly associated with assigning the function.
After all I may go back into playing around with the FM buttons trying to create a suitable design as there is apparently no solution to the problem.
Yes, I missed that one with the private network...BTW I used IE8 as bowser as well as my Ipad tp see how it works.
Wouldn't I also be able to
- search for all customers in 2011
- create an evaluation layout with fields like "TOTAL GOOD" "TOTAL AVERAGE" "TOTAL POOR"
- within the found record set apply a script that counts all "good" "average" and "poor"
I will need to rethink this whole thing after reading your earlier topic http://fmforums.com/...urvey-question/ Looks like there's more than one way to skin the cat...
Here is the file...SURVEY.zip
Now that I got to try it out you are correct, the picture still does the same thing and turns into negative. I tried everything, locking it, gif, png, etc. but no luck. Vista not better so far... back to Sq1...

I have one record at the moment which should be enough to test how it works.
Why do you think I should have a separate record for each question? How would I do that when my records in both databases are based on customers (= one record for each customer)?
Hi Daniele,
It's not a MAC thing...you place a rectangle over the actual button graphic and set the fill pattern so that it doesn't show a color but is transparent. Then select the rectangle and apply Button Setup. Select the rectangle, click "arrange" and bring the rectangle to the front so it is the one being clicked later on and not the button graphic.
