  1. Thanks for looking at my problem, I'm trying to figure out what changes you suggest. What is a contunity # ? If you get a chance please look at the layouts and I think they will help you understand where I'm going. Thanks, Art
  2. Hey there, I'm trying to build a new FM7 Costume Breakdown from and old FM5 one. In the old I had five differente "Files" with all the relationships working pretty much as I liked. Now I have one "File" with five "Tables" and I cant get the structure like before. Here are my "Tables" Chrono = This is where I input the data for the Scenes and add the Roles to each Scene. Roles = A list of all the Roles and the scenes that they are in. This is also where I assign the Costume #. Contunity = This is a printable list of all the Roles and Costume changes by Scene. One costume per page Line Up = A chart showing what scenes are shooting on what day. I would also like to be able to have the Roles show up across the top that are working that day and their Costume # in the respected scene. Kind of like a horizantal portal. Shoot Day = The shooting day and Date Can any body help me get the relationships working??? Thanks in advance, Art art.reasonover@sympatico.ca FileMaker Version: FM 7 Platform: Windows XP Costume_Breakdown.zip
  3. For some reason I can't seem to be able to enter data into field(s) inside a header. The field(s) format is checked for allowing entry and on other layouts with the same field(s), I can enter data. The header has become frozen at the top of the page in browse mode (I don't know why!). Can some one tell what I did or how I can fix it. Also the freeze frame is great, but How did I do it?
  4. Is there any way to define a field that will get information from a vertical portal and then show it in this new field horizontally. ie: info 1, info 2, info 3,etc. not: info 1 info 2 info 3
  5. I'm in the market for a new laptop & most are now pre-instaled with Windows XP home edition. The FM website says that they are not testing anything but FM Pro 5.5 with XP and that all other versions use XP at their own risk. I use FM Pro 5 & don't really want to spend another $249 US just to upgrade to 5.5. Has anyone found any problems using FM Pro 5 with Windows XP??? Art PS> I think it's kind of greedy for Filemaker not to test all versions of Filemaker with new Operating systems.
  6. How do I get FM5 to list numbered records in a real numerical order ie: 1 to 100+ without "100" comming after 10 and before 11? Art
  7. Is there any way to rotate a portal horizontally accross the page instead of vertically?
  8. I'm using a pop-up value list from a related Database in a portal. When I choose one of the values a dialog comes up saying "This field cannot be modified until ":field" is given a valid value". What am I doing wrong? Art art.reasonover@sympatico.ca
  9. Hopefully someone can help me. I'm trying to breakdown film scripts by the Actors and their Chrono days in the script. I have set up each scene # as an individual record with Scene #, Location, Chrono, Roles, as fields, but when I try to place more than one actor in the roles field via a portal FM creates another record of the scene with just one actor. What can I do? I also want another lay out for each actor displaying only the scenes he or she is in and then be able to makes notes about that scene. Of course I would like all of this to take place in one main form and then filter out automatically. I'm new to FM so please be patient and fairly basic. Thanks for the help, Art
