Hey all
Let me just say ahead of time that I'm completely unfamiliar with FM! :-) The current database solution that's been set in place at my company has been done by an outside company. The problem I seem to be having is this. We're running FMSERVER 3.0 to host a set of files, which are then accessed on the client side by FM3.0 runtime clients and a single FMP 4.0 web companion for limited web access for a few users. FMSERVER resides on a internal web server, Proliant /p3-600/256/RAID5, Win2000 Server/SP2. Also running IIS for something unrelated. FMP 4.0 web comp resides on an old Proliant 2500 Pro200/128 Win2000 Server/SP2. Sparatically, clients are getting errors trying to access the fmserver files, and the files do not show in a host lookup from the runtime client. Users who are already connected to the database seem to be able to navigate the files just fine until they exit. The service needs to be stopped and then restarted to put the files back online.
I can't seem to tie it to any time of day in particular, or any time in particular. Sometimes it happens several times, sometimes it won't happen for a week. The server shows no sign of any issues.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks ahead of time.
