I had some problem to have the script be trigged on a PC, but it trigged on my Mac, using OnObjectModify. Using this script in the attached file: If [ GetField ( Test1::Value_List_Field = "Value2" ) ] Show Custom Dialog [ "In data" ; "Your date" ; Test1::Relevant_Date_Field ] End If It seems like I'm using the wrong function because it triggers the script no matter which value is selected. I'm wondering if the GetField function evaluates the whole value list, and thus trigger script anyhow. Test_ValueList.fmp12

Is it possible to trigger a script based on a string from a Drop-down list value in text field? In my Drop-down list, and from two of the listed text values in that list, when I have chosen the value, I would like to set a date field manually. I was thinking the script should open a Show custom dialog? Will it work some how, or maybe something else?

Hello, I've been using this Excel formula: =DATEDIF(DATE(MID(A2;LEN(A2)-6;2);MID(A2;LEN(A2)-8;2);LEFT(A2;LEN(A2)-9));TODAY();"y") It has been used for calculating the age of a person from a social sec. number with 11 digits. The first six digits from the left is day of birth, day/month/year. Is it possible to get the same calculation in Filemaker?

I read in help: "OnRecordLoad Triggers a script to run after a record is made current or entered, such as after a user or script switches to a layout, switches records, opens a new window, creates or deletes a record, or performs a Find operation." How do you find this Script trigger, and how do you apply it? My aim is to trigger a script for each record I look through. What do I do, to see it available when I choose Set Script Trigger?

Could someone please help me to extract a part of a URL an put it in to a new one. In this URL I want extract the youtube videoID, and it is located at the end after = operator in blue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2k1EOpC6Mk The new URL would be: http://img.youtube.com/vi/X2k1EOpC6Mk/maxresdefault.jpg I think about a calculation field with the extracted value in between, something like: "http://img.youtube.com/vi/"& extractedfromURL_field & "/maxresdefault.jpg" I am not sure how you extract the videoID. It has been nearly 9 years since I posted in this forum and equally years not doing anything in FM. My FM version was not eligible for upgrade anymore and I had to buy the newest version. I feel, and I am, a beginner all over again. This question might be easy stuff, but not to me. I would like to make a tool for finding content in wikipedia urls and other sites, based on tags over subject I have tagged in each record containing one URL. In the example attached, there one table, two layouts. One layout for inserting URLs, and one layout with portal in a self relation. In the portal layout, I would like to find URLs witht several tags, which are different subjects. Tags are pop up menu with a value list over many subjects. In the portal layout, you see records based on the relation with the first field, Subject 1. I would like to be able to show records from more relation fields, i.e. also Subject 3, Subject 5. Yeah, I could do that. I just thought about an extra step for reserved, and after the printout, it should be booked. The reserved step I'm thinking of, is if it should be more clients on the DB doing the same thing.

Trying to make a seat ticket reservation something. I have from the main page, seats(images with script) that I click and and with some scriptstep I reserve in another table inside a field for reservation (just picked a value: 0) and I can reserve more than one at the time. Ready for printing, a scriptstep send them to the printer and now I should clean the reserve fields, flag it as sold in this record and the other records in the foundset, and flag the seatfields in the main page that is corresponding to the seats actually ordered. There I have a textfield that should fill the seat reference from the sold/printed ticket and a container(to fill with color flagged as sold). In the next step I'm stuck. I don't know how to connect to the right fields to fill (the seat ref and container) in the main page.

Using FM 8 Is this possible: I'm setting up layout and table,'Frontpage.' Here I have a portal from a table, 'Matchdates,' with fields: 'date,' and 'team.' I want to make a button inside the portal row wich set the fields 'date,' and 'team, in the 'Frontpage' layout and table from the record/row of desire in the portal. I have managed this through a self relation, and hoped it could work from another table.

Nace codes are European industrial classification. SIC codes are US. When I look up the SIC code in table A, I get the explenation on that perticular SIC code, but I do not know what the equal European NACE code would be. In table B, I have that right conversion, but I do not have the explenation of the SIC code as I have in table B. I suggest nobody spend more time on this Q. I am so far from an amswer because I am not able to explain the problem, but thanks anyway. Snekkis
