Thank you, Kurt! All the years I have used Filemaker I had never TRIED to open one of my FM databases from a CD....now I understand! It can't be done! Thanks for the lesson! Russ

Hi........ I am running Windows Xp..home edition. I copied filemaker files to a cdrw disk formatted using Direct CD. When I try to open the files either with Filemaker 4 or Filemaker 6, it opems in restricted mode, and will not let me do anything with the file. I copied the files back to a zip disk, and the files open correctly, without a problem. Does anyone have any ideas on what is happening here? Thanks Russ Bunker
