  1. I was working on a FileMaker form a while back, and I've just started up on it again. When I go to the layout view, I don't have a background image (of the scanned form) to help me get everything lined up. Yet when I go to the Browse view, I see the graphic. I've selected "Do Not Print" from the menu, and selected view non-printing items from the menu, but I still don't see the background image. Do you guys have any suggestions? It was working before, and I've tried inserting a new graphic to a new field and choosing don't print. It shows up on top of all the other things I'm working on, and it won't go away, even after unchecking the show non-printing objects menu. I'm sure it's something simple that I'm not doing, but I'm not sure what. Another question... on this form I have multiple check boxes (Sex: M or F for example), so how would I insert the check boxes and their locations for placement on the form (using a pre-printed form)? And is there a way if I type in a certain word or number in a certain field that some other fields would fill in automatically? Thanks.
  2. Well, to begin with, I'm new to FileMaker. I haven't been able to find an answer to my question just by searching, so I decided I'd post it and see if you guys could help me out. In our office we have pre-printed insurance forms that we used to fill out by typewriter. We've decided to switch over and do it on the computer. Is there a way to design a template in FileMaker that will allow us to tab to the different fields that need to be filled out, and then print the data onto the insurance forms in the printer? I need to be able to see the data fields I need to fill in (i.e. "first name", "last name", "address", etc.) but just print out the data (don't print out "first name: BoomBubba", we just want "BoomBubba") onto certain places on the pre-printed forms. We will also have some check boxes for different options, so I might want a set of radio-buttons or something like that. Basically I just need to figure out: 1) how to make data fields where just the data you enter is printed out, and 2) how to move the data fields around so they will print out in the correct spots on the pre-printed forms. Thanks!
