  4. Tried what you suggested, although I assumed the Import you referred to was Import Records as this was the only import option available. When I proceeded to the specify (import order) it brought up an Import Mapping window (made sure the targetwindow at top had the original layout chosen. The window did not list any source fields on it. When I tried running the script an Open File window came up looking for file. The Impor Record script step showed Import Records [Add:ANSI]. Did I take a wrong turn somewhere?

  10. I'm a newbie in need of some help... I'm trying to figure out a script to copy an entire record from one layout and table and paste it on another layout from another table. It's for an inventory db I'm trying to develop and I want to transfer one record from one location's inventory to another location's. The layouts are identical (as far as the fields) and the tables are basically duplicates of each other. I tried ... Copy Record/Request Go to layout(layout name) Paste[] (also Paste[select]) Go to layout(original layout) Delete Record/Request didn't work. Tried adding Open New Record/Request before the Paste and it pasted all the field contents in first field. I also tried copying one field at a time and pasting it to the other layout's matching field, but nothing appeared in the fields i specified it to paste in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 14. Thanks so much for the help. I'm pretty much a rookie trying to teach myself. I'll try this when I get to work tomorrow.
  15. I'm fairly new to filemaker and creating an inventory db using and modifying the template in FM. I want to be able to count reoccurring values in a "Model" field so I can generate an "On Hand" field. Suggestions?
