I am having a similar problem. System: OS10.5.5 iMac G4 760mb RAM It does not matter if I install FMS 9.0 or 9.03 or 9.03.256: after launching Safari and waiting forever I doubleclick the downloaded Java file. It opens using Java Web Viewer and after some more thinking I finally get a message: Could not find the Database Server because it is not running." The only option is a "Restart" button which appears to do nothing except bring up another message telling me to "contact my system adminstrator," which is ME. This is simply unbelievable that a company like Filemaker can put out such poor quality software. Surely there is a way to install this program. Anybody know how to get it done?

i think this is impossible so i hope someone can prove me wrong! I need to show a text block (name and address) using specific fonts and weights that are not likely found on most computers: Univers and Minion. Substitutes are not allowed Is there any technique to convert the text into an image within IWP and display the results like a preview? Thanks in advance RG

i have been asked to create printing templates (business cards,envelopes etc) using data in our FM 9 system and PDF backgrounds supplied by the printer. The problem is that if I try to save a small PDF, like a business card, the output file is a full page with the little card in the northwest corner. Is there any way to output this PDF in 100% scale without the extraneous white space and without using another program to trim or crop? Thanks

This is my 5th install and the first to have this problem: When the Admin Console tries to open I get 2 messsages: "Unable to start database engine" and then "Unknown error" I have verified that the Apache server is running. This install is on a new Mac Mini (Intel) with all the latest updates.

I know there is no direct way to rotate a portal 90 degrees, but anyone seen either a work-around or a way to simulate the effect. i am trying to use related data in a columnar report and need the portal to show the keys or legends of the portal rows.
