  1. I apologize. I feel like an idiot. Apparently, I mis-entered something. You guys are right the VLA doesn't keep track of whether the licenses have all been installed. In partial defense of my having thought it did, Filemaker certainly intends to implement a system that will require you to "activate" your license. The "activation" will keep track of your computer's unique footprint as well as the license key employed. Thank you. I would never have tried it again if you guys had not insisted I had to have entered something wrong.
  2. Yes, I tried them. Just an hour earlier I had used the installer to install my tenth and last license. I know I did it the same way, and I double checked the entries when it failed.
  3. wplate, I had a similar question about moving a licensed instalation from one PC to another. I had a Volume Licensing Agreement installer. I have used my ten licenses and now one of my users has been given a new PC. You said you were "moving licenses around". That sounds like you know the answer to my question. Did uninstalling-reinstalling solve your problem?
  4. Thanks for the replies. My problem is that I don't have any access to free tech support. That's whuy I was hoping someone here knew the answer. The installer worked for the ten licenses I was entitled to. Now I want to transfer one of the licensed instalations to a new PC.
  5. I have ten users whose copies of 8.5 Installed using the downloaded Volume Licensing installer. I don't have a boxed copy. Now one of my users has been given a new PC. Is there an easy way to transfer the licensed Filemaker installation to the new PC? The installer says the license key is invalid. Please don't tell me I have to buy a new license!
