Part background styles

Featured Replies

What is a “layout background” style that appears on the Inspector? Why are there no defaults for part backgrounds (header, body, footer, etc.)? How do you set defaults for parts?

Hi John,

Each theme has it’s own defaults for the header, body, footer, fonts (style, size, etc.),  which is why they called it a theme. If you want to customize them, you have to use the inspector to make the changes, and then save it (as a new theme). 12 was the introduction of the Themes, and they were limited in how you could customize them. You are pretty much stuck with the out of the box themes, or to making your customization changes to each layout.  Any changes you make to a layout can not be used in a different layout with out copy and paste to the layouts. 13 changed a lot of that when the introduced the Styles to Themes.

If you are using 12, the process is harder to do then in 13, 14 and 15.

If you go back to the release of 12, we had a lot of discussions on this subject in the Themes Topic. Lot of impute as to whether or not to make changes to the css.

p.s. I will probably add to this after I done review the 12 themes.

I updated this to correct some of the response. Wow, what a difference in Themes between 12 and 13 - 15.
