Gotcha's if Modifying Schema in Separation Model Setup?

Featured Replies

I have a separation model setup that is working fine. I followed the directions, and the Mirrorsync Table was created in the Interface file but was moved to the Data file. MirrorSync scripts and layouts remained in Interface file.

After initial setup is there anything to be wary of when modifying schema, particularly if adding an additional table and corresponding sync layout?

Thanks,

ft.

You just need to run through the configuration and re-paste script steps to pick up any newly added layouts or fields. Be sure to NOT rename or remove fields that were used in the sync unless you're planning on simultaneously deploying new offline files, because that will cause the sync to fail for offline files that still have those tables and fields.

OK, thanks.

This would be simply adding a new table & MirrorSync layout to the database, not removing anything that is there.

Just so I know what to expect, will remote users who have not yet downloaded the new version continue syncing in good order, or will they receive errors?

Thanks,

ft.

Users with the old version will be able to sync their version, even after making the configuration changes.
