Canceling a sync safely

Featured Replies

Hello

We have a spoke that just cannot get sync'd. What is the best/cleanest way to cancel that sync on the hub? The spoke has received a message like:

Sync Error.  Start: 11/7/2016 8:37:48 AM Duration: 5 Minutes 52 Seconds Version: 5.01 The MirrorSync URL returned an empty response. This may be a temporary network problem. If it continues, verify that the server is running properly by checking this URL in your browser: https://mirrorsync3.oda.state.or.us/MirrorSync/sync

and is no longer syncing. Subsequent attempts to sync are aborted with the same message. At this time the last attempted sync was ~19hrs ago but the server still reports that spoke is still syncing.

Using the Admin App to Stop the server doesn't seem to do it. When the Start server is used the session just reappears.

Thanks, Mark

All syncs will clear out after 8 hours of inactivity.

What about clicking the 'cancel' button in the MirrorSync admin utility? Does that have any effect?

Hey Jesse

Using the MirrorSync Admin utility seems to work - if there's only one sync occuring at the time. If there's more than one it appears to be hit or miss that you cancel the one that you intended to.
