fishtech Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Hi, I have 16GB RAM on my OSX FileMaker server which also runs MirrorSync. I have noticed in Activity Monitor that the RAM usage is rarely over 10 GB. If I allocate the additional 5-or-6 GB to MirrorSync by modifying the modify the setenv file will it make my syncs faster? Thanks, ft.
Jesse Barnum Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Unlikely. MirrorSync does not do much RAM-based caching, so changing the RAM will either make the sync work or not. The speed will probably not be significantly affected.
fishtech Posted September 27, 2017 Author Posted September 27, 2017 I noticed that the server you used to do benchmarking had 60GB of RAM. Did you need to do anything to FileMaker or MirrorSync to optimize the performance with that much RAM? Thanks, ft.
