Addsing newly created fields in current layout

Hi in FMP 13 every time I create a new field I need to go to the layout mode and add it manually

I think there is a way to do it automatically ... but I forgot how

Would anyone be so kind to refresh my memory ....

It is a FileMaker » Preference » Deselect the "Add newly defined fields to current layout"
