Working for someone, they use filemaker pro 4.1, while i use 5.5 pro. I need to get the database info i have updated in 5.5 fp5 format back onto their machine into 4.1 in fp3 format, and they cannot upgrade to 5.5 pro.

what sort of solutions are available to me?

The only way I know how to is to export all the data from the 5.5 and then use 4.1 to hand-craft and copy of it. Then import all the data.

so which export method would be best? any suggestions?

Tab delimited text has the least restrictions, but doesn't include field names for matching purposes. DIF has field names, but truncates text fields at 256 characters.
