agraham999 Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 I've been building FMP stuff for 10 years...but I've just begun doing the web-companion stuff. Yesterday we finally turned off my clients Exchange server (woo hoo) and moved the company database over to FMP in Outlook. Since Outlook can view an html page within it...the company rolodex points to the FMP server and hooks to it via Unlimited. Worked flawlessly!!! Chalk one up for FileMaker. My next task is connecting their website to FMP. I want to create some templates that allow the office folks to enter data into their database and it updates the site and they aren't required to know HTML...this would be useful for updating projects and employment information. I want it to look fantastic... Should I use CDML...or XML to do this? If XML...where is a good place to start learning it?
Garry Claridge Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 CDML will be the way to go. Maria Langers book 'Database Publishing with Filemaker Pro on the Web' is a good start. I think XML will be fine when style sheets can be applied. All the best. Garry
