when i try Get ( SystemPlatform ) it returns 1 also so why the Abs()?

It's a holdover from a time when there were PowerPC-based Macs and the function would return -1 for those.

    Thank you Comment. so is it safest to use Abs or have they just not changed help?  Is anyone still using PowerPC-based Macs with FM?

    I don't think it's possible to run a .fmp12 file on a PowerPC Mac. Apparently FMI didn't think so either, since the change occurred in v.12.
