This should be very easy to understand. I have 2 databases, One is family and it is related to many family members, by a family ID. In the family member file I want to be able to see all relations i.e. members of the same family. I have self join relationship for the family members based on the family ID field.

My problem is that in the portal I keep getting two people of the same name even though I have only one of each, I can not see the other people in the family that I want to see.

EG family name Murphy members of family John and Margaret. If I go into Margarets record, In the Relations portal I see margaret twice but can not see John.

The only thing I can think of is to make sure the fields placed in the portal are from the relationship (i.e. "SelfRelationship::Family Name" and NOT just "Family Name".

You got it! I had the field full name in the portal rather than the field from the relationship. Simple mistake! Thanks for your help.
