Hi,

I have deployed a FileMaker solution based on a custom FullCalendar dev to manage events for a school.

with ZULU I need to give access to 3 kind of users : school administrative, teachers and students...

some events are filtered by credentials, some by key value - events are read only

School administratives will use a google calendar, I done the work with the help of 360Works support last week...

but Teachers and students use a variety of devices and app, that's my point

I did all my test from my Mac and iOS with iCal, and the webcal subscription works great

but just before the final deployment, I want to apply the same subscription to windows and android users and its not so easy...

It seems that I can use webcal only on Mac and iOs, and for the other user I need to share my calendars via google sharing (https...)

So what are your experience for sharing events to window users and android users - what calendar app you need, and what protocol you use

thanks

Hi,

Since Apple calendars will be unavailable to windows and android users, you would need to use either Google calendars or Exchange/Outlook calendars for those users. Please refer to our documentation on how to set up each of those with Zulu: http://docs.360works.com/index.php/Zulu_-_Syncing_with_Exchange_Outlook_Calendars & http://docs.360works.com/index.php/Zulu_-_Syncing_with_Google_Calendars .

It looks like you're on the right track with your filtering and set up so far. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

thanks

yep I read the doc, and I have deployed a google sync with creation of a dedicated google API/key...

my question is : for non Mac users the best way to share a calendar is :

first from Zulu to google calendar (via the Zulu's google sync feature) - I have my calendars (a lot) in my customer's main google account

and then, use google public sharing features to share any single calendar with other users (public)

if I'm right, I loose some filtering capabilities like filtering with google credentials...

Sorry if it a dumb question, but the guide is perfect to deploy but not so clear to the scope of what we can do and cannot do depending the devices/protocol/apps... it's not the purpose of the guide I understand , reason why I need previous users expertise

regards

Thanks for clarifying.

It makes sense to have a lot of calendars, some of which would be filtered.

Instead of sharing the calendar publicly, you should then share the specific calendars with their corresponding users. Here is a link on how to share the calendars with specific users: https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/37082?hl=en#zippy= . You can use the main google account to sync with, and then distribute the shared calendars with the correct users.
