Filemaker custom aboriginal fonts & Keyman

I have an Aboriginal client in canada who's using filemaker to build a language dictionary with audio to capture their language. They have two custom fonts (Serif and Sans Serif) and use a keyboard app called Keyman to help them insert special characters. Works great with microsoft products such as Word or Excel, but inside a filemaker text field it doesn't.

Does anyone have experience with this?

I did something from years ago for someone from Penobscot tribe. They had an FMP v3 file that had probably the last spoken words by someone in her sunset years, they too had a custom font.

Our goal at the time was to extract the audio data and save it as MP3. or something as the internal format for that version of fm was deprecated.

I remember having to install custom fonts but that was a PS font with a suitcase. I remember seeing the fonts render properly.
