We are trying to make a database for storing information that we store during inspection of a building

so we add our drawing to FileMaker as a picture and on this picture would we like to add a circle and a line to where a problem is found in the building. In the circle we like to have a number that is pull from the current record in fm.

The picture/drawing is what the architects have made from the building.

Any if you have any good solution for this and I hope you understand what I mean😀

Filemaker does not have a native ability to draw on an image. The most you can do using only the provided tools is to overlay a drawing prepared in advance, or some text.

If you have a limited number of background images, and each one of these images has a limited number of "spots" where an overlay drawing can go, then you could prepare all the possible overlay drawings in advance and just turn the right one on.

With a text overlay you have more flexibility regarding the placement - see the demo here:

If you need something more elaborate than that, then an add-on or a plugin would be a better choice. I can't recall offhand if any such plugin exists; re add-ons, I have seen mentions of GoDraw and EasyDraw. I haven't used either one of these and AFAIK GoDraw is being discontinued.

There also used to be something called FMEasyCanvas - an open-source drawing solution for FM v.13 (macOS/iOS only?). Unfortunately, it seems to have thoroughly disappeared. The only traces I could find are a web archive of the http://fmeasycanvas.com/ site where the download does not work and a code repository here.
