When you need a portal-within-a-portal but it's not "do-able"...

Featured Replies

Greetings, all:

I have two portals (to different tables side-by-side in the same layout.) In the left portal is a value list (Services) that's accessible by clicking the <CLICK ME> popover button (in the screenshot.) However, our manager wants to change it from a value list (within a popover) to a portal (which gets my endorsement because I'll be able to parse the data easier) because the value list takes up too much real estate. But, as you know, you can't put a portal within a portal, so how can I pull this off in this layout...which she doesn't want to change?

Probably value list in a popover card window, as a DVL with type-ahead dwindling.

Thanks, Steve. It's simpler to create a  button with a Single Step > New Window command assigned to it rather than use a popover with a script trigger...if I'm interpreting what you recommend, correctly.

Interesting suggestion about dwindling; it's type-ahead for the moment, but I'll ask which way to go with my manager; she signs the paychecks so she decides what she sees. : )

Better wording

I believe the intent was yes create a new window as a card style window
