Greg Hains Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Hi. Is it possible to detect the name (SSID) of a Wireless network I am connected to on an iPad through FMGo? I can detect if its a WiFi or cellular connection, and I can get the assigned IP address, but need to know the actual Wifi name - as the above two details are not enough. I thought about adding a GPS location in there too hoping it would help, but as it's a large warehouse, sometimes the GPS data is not precise enough. A WiFi name would solve all my problems. I have a script that will run on an iPad ONLY if they are connected back at head office as it will connect to a local device there. I have both BaseElements and MonkeyBread software if I can pull info from to determine this info if this helps. Cheers, Greg
Ocean West Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 You might be able to use a ShortCut to get the wifi detail and then use Siri to push that info to a script. You could even initiate it from FM using the shortcut URL https://support.apple.com/guide/shortcuts/run-a-shortcut-from-a-url-apd624386f42/ios
Greg Hains Posted August 16, 2022 Author Posted August 16, 2022 Hi Ocean West, Thanks very much for this - I will look into this option. I've not done anything like this before, so new frontiers, eh?!. Cheers, Greg
