Louis
Hello friends, During July and this morning, our Filemaker server crashed (v17.0.5.500). Although it looks like the client can still connect to the server, it is slow or unresponsive. I tried restarting FileMaker Services in Windows Service but it didn't work. Then I restart the entire main FileMaker server, this error is resolved, the user can use as usual. After checking Eventlogs -> Application log we noticed that there are 2 errors (Level: Error, 😞 - Web Publishing Engine (WPE): fmscwpc.exe - Database Server: fmserver.exe I believe both WPE and Database Server applications crashed causing all FileMaker services to fail. Please advise me the cause and how to fix this problem. Thank you.
Ocean West
i know it's not what you want to hear I would strongly urge you to get on a more current platform. Trying to debug a version that is no longer supported in tandem with a Windows 32 bit OS.
Louis
Hi @Ocean West, Just for more information, we are using Windows 64bit server. So far all services have been stable, but only recently we have noticed problems, and they usually happen from about after the daily backup schedule performs the backup schedule (From after 12:00 pm). AM). I'm not sure what the root cause is. Thanks for you quick response
Ocean West
Most developers turn off the default midnight backup as the OS tends to do stuff about that time as well. I've set my own schedule to run earlier or later than midnight.
