I was previously using File Maker 5.5 with os9.2

how ever recently i changed to os x 10.2 and also upgraded to File Maker 6.0

I use the same data base as i did when i was using os 9.2, which works fine in FM 6.0, how ever when i go to print, the print window 'hangs'. So i cancel the print, but then the printer window comes up (that's right, the print window comes up when i click cancel). Anyway, i click print and it prints. HOWEVER, it does not print correctly.

All the dimensions are wrong, and only have the actual page is printed onto the paper.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have any direct experience with this, but it sounds like a printer driver problem. What type of printer are you using and have you downloaded the latest driver from the internet?

A4 layouts print correctly, but not landscapes. With landscape layouts, not all the text fits properly.

I am using Xerox Phaser 860 printer, which i just installed the latest drivers for, yet didn't make any difference. i' tried playing around with the printer settings in file maker 6 as well, but nothing seems to work.

i'm thinking there's a confilct somewhere along the lines, as when i click print file maker just hangs. how ever when i cancel (applekey+.) the printer screen will come up.

any suggestions or solutions would be muchly appreciated!

The only way to isolate whether it's a FM problem or printer/driver problem is to try another printer/driver. You might also look at the printed area size setting for that layout in Layout Mode and see if the page margins are set too small.

i don't think it's the printer, because when i click print preview it isn't correct there either.

why would i have to change margins when it worked perfect with FM 5.5

please, could someone help me!

it will print normal a4 out allright, but landscape isn't how it should be.
