I need to know if there is a common way tp carry a username and password variable from IIS windows popup box into the web security popup.

It sounds like you are using Instant Web Publishing. If you are it is wysiwyg.

If you are using custom you should familiarize yourself with the -token tag and its use. Start with the cdml reference.fp5 and then research these forums for previous threads covering tokens (see also cookies). Yes, this will take some time. But you do want to be an expert.
