Way to change password for multiple related files

Featured Replies

Running a main database with about 5 related files. Is there a way to be able to have the user change a password in the main file and be able to have it change in the related? Or does the user have to open each file individually and change the password that way.

Ideally, it would be nice to have a global field in the main database where a default password can be entered. And then come sort of script would make sure that is the password for all the files. I know this probably is not possible, just thought I would ask.

I believe there is a plugin that can do that. However, I don't know the author's name. Check www.fmplugins.com

Another alternative viz-z-viz plug-in solutions for automation of password updates is Dialog Magic from New Millennium Communications: http://www.newmillennium.com/

Aside from that and the Waves In Motion option already suggested, you might also want to consider implementing your own custom log-in system (using it instead of the inbuilt security). There are pros and cons each way, and it depends a lot on what the solution is for and how it's configured as to which way may be best - so I'll leave it to you to explore and consider the options...
