Newbies george nicholas Posted January 15, 2002 Newbies Posted January 15, 2002 Whenever I start up Filemaker, it connects to the Internet. How do I turn off this function? I use Mac OS 9. Thanks.
Garry Claridge Posted January 16, 2002 Posted January 16, 2002 Goto "Preferences" - "Application" - "Plug-ins" - and uncheck "Auto-update". Hopfully that should do it. Garry
Newbies george nicholas Posted January 16, 2002 Author Newbies Posted January 16, 2002 Thanks for the suggestion, Gary. I did follow your suggestion and turned off the Auto-Update function, and also unchecked all other Plug-in boxes. However, this doesn't solve the problem. When I again go to open FileMaker, my RemoteAccess log-in starts.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted January 16, 2002 Posted January 16, 2002 First, what version of FMP are you using? Remove both the WC and the LDAC plugins from your FileMaker Extensions or FileMAker System folder. Also. check to see if your dialup software--if that's what you're using--is configured to connect when a TCP based app is launched. Old Advance Man
Newbies george nicholas Posted January 16, 2002 Author Newbies Posted January 16, 2002 You nailed it, Old Advance Man. Thanks very much. I removed the WC, RDAC, and TCP/IP OT plug-ins, and that did the trick. I'm using FM Pro 5.5, by the way (sorry for not mentioning that earlier).
