Whenever I start up Filemaker, it connects to the Internet. How do I turn off this function?

I use Mac OS 9.

Goto "Preferences" - "Application" - "Plug-ins" - and uncheck "Auto-update".

Hopfully that should do it.

Thanks for the suggestion, Gary. I did follow your suggestion and turned off the Auto-Update function, and also unchecked all other Plug-in boxes. However, this doesn't solve the problem. When I again go to open FileMaker, my RemoteAccess log-in starts.

First, what version of FMP are you using?

Remove both the WC and the LDAC plugins from your FileMaker Extensions or FileMAker System folder.

Also. check to see if your dialup software--if that's what you're using--is configured to connect when a TCP based app is launched.

You nailed it, Old Advance Man. Thanks very much. I removed the WC, RDAC, and TCP/IP OT plug-ins, and that did the trick.

I'm using FM Pro 5.5, by the way (sorry for not mentioning that earlier).
