We just updated our 5.0 FMserver to 5.5 server hoping that it could be more stable than 5.0

The FMserver ran bout 9 our and crahed... There were error message like this:

The application, fmserver.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 10/02/2002 @ 18:29:42.156 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 01CBA209 (<nosymbols>)

Any ideas what this error message mean about?

Server:

1400mzh AMD, ~500mb memory, Mylex scsi raid with two 7200rmp ibm hardrives mirrored.

Runs's on w2k server software SP2. The FMserver is 5.5

We have another problem with some of our biggiest databases (over 40 000 records). Sometimes, when user makes find, the client software says "connection closed error -20". When next user tryes to open same database the database server closes database. After that we have to recove database and open it again to server... Any ideas why is this happening?

Every client are on 100mbs network to fmserver..

Our server just scrashed. w2k crashed too. We tested databses and came to thath conclusion that it must be something wrong with the network... Mayby it's the network card on Fmserver or something... On our test the database crashed every time we make a lot of work load to it... And now it crashed hole fmserver.

We have no other solutions on FMserver.

We noticed that we have been using same memory on our server that we used on our old server. Old server's motherboard damaged and we have to change it.... I think the memory were our broblem.

Now we have ghanged our memory to new ones and everyting seems to be working fine. We all so updated Mylex drivers.

We have IIS server, SQL-server, FMunlimited, FiIeserver, all on AMD prosessors.. And those are working properly.

What do you think about 2-port Nic's with Fmserver?

Our problems continue...

Everyting seemed to get working just fine.. Then our FMserver app crashed after one week.

Now we decided to buy totally new hardware to our FMserver. So now we have AMD 2200, 333mzh, 512mb memory mylex scsi raid, on W2k server..

Our server is now stable, but clients are responding once and a while like this: "communicatin with host was interubted and could not be re established"

...And after perssing close button fallows:

"error in file "puze.fp5" this file is damaged"

The file is not damaged on server we could still see the database on host list and open it to another client and use it. But we recovered it for make it sure taht it is not damaged..

This from server log, at the same time:

User "pu" [215.46.81.234] no longer responding, connection closed.

Any ideas why is this happening?

Can be anything. Damaged file -- recover is not good for damaged files.

How many NIC cards?

AMD?

Mylex?

Our IT burned badly with AMD. Is FM server certified for AMD?

To run PC server without Intel chipset is very risky business.

I know 20 IT hotshots and everyone is with full Intel machine.

What hardware do you use with FMserver? What OS?

How can I find that damaged file? Do I have to reconstruct all 80 databses and hope that our eror source is corrupt databases...?

we have two unlimited machines..

Now we noticed that:

Once unlimited machines processor load goes to 100%, after it comes to normal 3-10 % state, both unlimited machines tells

communication error -20 close file

What does this maen...

Same time some other clients are getting same messages, but not all...

Now we have new eror message, I add a picture to this message. What does this mean about? At the same time FMunlimited serves same file without no problems...fmkuva.jpg

After I do anyting else I get..
