I have a school solution that uses a value list that includes 4 symbols: a square, a triangle, an X and a O. The db is hosted by FM Server and most clients are macs. We do however have a few Win 98 boxes. On these the symbols are fine except the triangle. I get just a dash displayed. Both the macs and win computers have Arial (the solution font) How do I get around this or solve this.

Question from Newbieland.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

You need a windows font that includes the triangle. Maybe you could add the character you need using a font editor or use the Status(CurrentPlatform) step to go to a layout with a different font on windows machines (again, if you can find one with all the characters). Depending upon how you are using the symbols, you can use a calculated container field to display cross platform graphics.
