Highlighting the current record

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have set up a report layout to find duplicates with just the essential info on it. About five or six records fit on the screen at once. Users can delete records directly from this screen, but I'm nervous that users might not always be aware of where the little black bar is on the left side of the screen which indicates which record is active, and therefore might delete the wrong record. Is there a way to make the background of the current/active record turn a different color or do something else eye-catching so the users are absolutely certain which record they're deleting?

Thanks in advance,

Leah

More clean will be to run that deletion from script. Never let users access the direct delete. Trust me smile.gif

Better still will be just mark record for deletion and before deletion to have backup of all records to be deleted.

Notwithstanding Anatoli's sage suggestions, if you want to highlight the current record you might like to check out a free demo file which is available for download from the following URL:

The technique used is an extension and refinement of one that has been around for a few years - and might suit your purposes quite well.
