FM files becoming damaged frequently

Featured Replies

I'm not sure this is the right category for this question, so I apologize if it's not. I am frequently having problems with my FM files becoming damaged. I go through the recovery process, but the whole thing is a huge pain when having to compensate over the network for the damaged file. It happens on several files, and it has happened several times to the same files. Is there something I can do to prevent this? Is it an embedded flaw in the program, or is Windows that is causing the problem?

How are the files being opened? Are they multi-user files? Are they on Filemaker Server? Is file share enabled on the server?

Some will advise that a recovered file should NEVER be used, and that the Recover command should only be used to rescue the data for import into a backup DB.

And are you opening the files ONLY via HOST button?
