Is there a way I can edit several portal lines at once over the web? It seems possible when using instant web publishing but I really need to be able to do this with custom publishing.

Any help with this would be great.

It might seem possible but is it really? Can you do a test and let us know please?

Well, I set up a simple test for this the other day and was able to edit text in line 1 and line 2 of a portal using instant web publishing, do you think this is not possible?
