Newbies Spacegirl Posted February 1, 2002 Newbies Posted February 1, 2002 Hi, I have a decent background in the web, enough to call myself a web designer and create intermediate Flash presentations, web graphics, etc. However, I would very much like to be able to provide a database for someone who wished to create an e-Commerce sight. I know people go to school for Database Technology for years. But I don't want to build an electronic town hall yet. I just want to be able to do something moderately humble, like sell cheese. Check out this website: http://www.igourmet.com It's a very well laid out website with a simple ordering process for the visitor. I'd like to be able to do something like this. Would FileMaker Pro be a good way to go? And how hard would it be to learn? Is FM a more managable option than something like ColdFusion? Thanks for being patient with a newbie. Cheers! Jen

Garry Claridge Posted February 4, 2002 Posted February 4, 2002 FMP and CDML are relatively easy and fast to develop with. I use both CDML and ASP/VBScript/SQL as a developer for various clients. CDML is my favourite! FMP is certainly capable of managing the ordering process. All the best. Garry
