hi everyone.

i have my database online and i have some sound files that i want to publish online. now i have a field that will create the url automaticly. the server that i have is set up and it all works perfectly. the problem that i am having is i will be using an external drive to house the sound files. i just don't know how to point to that drive. right now the field is /sounds/"nameOfSound".aif from a folder from the web folder.

any idea's?

Are you serving everything through WebCompanion? Or, are you also using a Web Server?

If you are using WebCompanion only, maybe try an "Aliais" to the sound folder. Have the "Aliais" in the FM Web folder. This is only a guess.

I will suggest serving sound files through web server only. WC is not designed for serving multimedia files and one user playing the sound may block all other users.
