BobWeaver Posted November 5, 2002 Posted November 5, 2002 I've just been trying to import some scripts from one Filemaker database into another one. I can't seem to import anything without having Filemaker crash. Initially, I tried selecting all the scripts I wanted to import (about 15), so next time I tried one at a time. Still crashed. The files don't seem to be corrupt, and the same thing happens with other good copies. I cranked up Filemaker's memory allocation to no avail. Has anyone else had this happen? Powerbook G4, 384 MB RAM FM version 5.5v2 (I just checked that this is the latest) OS 9.2.2
IdealData Posted November 5, 2002 Posted November 5, 2002 Lots of times. I eventually traced my problem to having the "#" (hash) symbol as part of a field name in the source script(s).
BobWeaver Posted November 5, 2002 Author Posted November 5, 2002 Interesting. I tested this a bit more and found the same problem with FM6. It seems to import some scripts but fails on others. I don't have any field names with non alphanumeric characters, but I'll have to see what the difference is between scripts that import and the ones that don't.
BobWeaver Posted November 5, 2002 Author Posted November 5, 2002 Okay, I booted up OSX and then it imported just fine. It appears that 5.5 wasn't very thoroughly debugged on OS9.
