LayID= versus Layout=

Is there a preference for one over the other? Just curious.

These are two entirely different items. The LAyoutID is the internally generated ID number that FIleMaker Pro uses to track the layouts ina file.

If you're tracking the NAME of the layout use:

PatternCount(StatusCurrentLayoutName),"MyLayoutName"
