Newbies PBB Posted December 3, 2002 Newbies Posted December 3, 2002 I have a product database on Filemaker Pro 5 which works fine. I want to use this to populate web pages using a number of html templates, which I can then tweak using an html editor like GoLive. This is for viewing only - I don't want to create dynamic web access to my database using Web Companion etc. How should I go about this? Am I missing something obvious? Do I need the developer version? At the moment I am cutting and pasting descriptions/images etc into my GoLive files.....
Garry Claridge Posted December 3, 2002 Posted December 3, 2002 You can use Custom Web Publishing (CWP). This is building your own pages and accessing data by using HTML/CDML. However, you need to be able to use WebCompanion. GoLive is fine for this. All the best. Garry
ibiubu Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 I just read about a application the other day that would be perfect for this. It is called Webmerge. http://www.fourthworld.com/products/webmerge/index.html If all you are looking to do is build static web pages, and the content of these pages will be coming from filemaker, then this application is probably what you are looking for. It looks to be built specifically for taking database information and building web pages from it. Larry
