December 19, 200223 yr I'm in the middle of polishing up a system of 20 or so databasse that are all opened by a main menu. At menu startup, and have a script that opens all the files in the system hidden. The problem in that in every file's startup script, it goes to the default layout and zooms. This seems to cancel out the hidden part of opening, and they open in all their glory. The only way around this is to totally rewire how they open -- take out zoom and put it in a script that set the zoom and layout. Or I could risk not doing the zoom, but my layout(s) are very dependant on having the windows zoomed. Any suggestions?
December 19, 200223 yr Mac or PC? Hiding files on Mac is nothing short of perfect -- they hide. On a PC he files are really just minimised -- their title bars are still visible AND in my experience the maximised windows become restored. My solution is to maximise all windows and change to an "about" screen that forces inquisitive users to start from the interface's begnining again. I now do this on Mac and Windows both, just to keep the programming simple.
December 20, 200223 yr Author Sorry, should have mentioned it was Mac (OSX). I guess I will try your suggestion, and see how it goes. Thanks.
