trevorg Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 There is no functionality built in that allows entry into a field based on that criteria, however, depending on the reason for desiring this, there are workarounds. 1. Remember that calculated fields cannot be modified, so if your concern was modification, then you need not worry. 2. You can create a "Find" layout that allows entry into that field. Simply create scripts to take you to the find layout and pause the script there. Then when the find resumes it can take you back to the original layout with the found records. Of course you will need to handle what to do if no records are found, etc...
tallboy755 Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 I can't think of a way myself... unless you added another layout ... ... ... However ... ... ... You can access the field in both find and browse mode but you can modify the value only in find mode
LiveOak Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 Normally you can enter into a calculated field in Find mode, but not in Browse mode. If you can't enter into a calculated field in Find mode, it is probably set to not allow entry. To fix this, enter Layout mode and select the field. Pull down the Format Menu to "Field Format". Make sure the "Allow Entry" checkbox is checked. -bd
