GlennC Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 Is 'tab' the only way through fields in browse mode? We can't assign 'Enter' for this? Also I'm trying to find what other databases would call input masks, but can't see it anywhere. Is it called something different in FM, or not there??? Thanks again, Glenn
Kurt Knippel Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 "Enter" will work in some instances, but not all. This is specifically a choice that FM made, since in many cases "Enter" is not actually the numerical keypad enter, but is actually the "Return" key labeled incorrectly, and Filemaker makes use of the "Return" for adding new paragraphs within text fields.
jasonwood Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 You can do basic number formatting (eg: currency) in FileMaker, but not much more sophisticated than that. You can make your own masks though... just make a calculation field, then stack the two fields on the layout. Set the calcualtion field to disallow entry into field, so that when you click on it, the cursor goes into the field below so you can edit the source.
