January 14, 200323 yr Does anyone know how to have FMP create a doc automatically from a field's contents, and then attach it to an email? (I can do the email part, just need to know how to have FMP auto-create a doc, preferably Word or PDF, from a text field). Also, once it's created, the best way to name, identity, and attach the newly created doc to the email? Trying to get this running on OSX (10.2.3), Email, and FMP6 If anyone has experience with this, that would be great. Thanks.

January 17, 200323 yr Author Thanks, that info was handy. I still need to know if it's possible to create a script (in FMP or applescript) to automatically attach the created file to an auto-generated email, all from within FMP. I can take care of the auto-generated email, just need to find a way to attach a file to said email (automatically). all ideas welcome. Thanks.
January 17, 200323 yr You can just save your attachment to the same location everytime and send using Send Mail script step. Alternatively, you can use applescript to add the attachment to a Mail message. [For an example, look for the Create New Mail Message.scpt script in the Library:Scripts:Mail Scripts folder on your hard drive.]
January 17, 200323 yr the way I do on Mac OS8.6 with FM Pro 5.5 is printing the file in pdf format. Without dialog the file will always be saved to the same specified name in the same specified folder. Then I get the function "AttachAssign" of SMTPit to get the path to the file and the rest of the script is executed using SMTPit. So I do need 2 plugins. I tried within FM but encountered some problem with the set attachment included in the function send mail of scriptmaker. See threads on the forum : Clickhere
