Browse Mode online only shows one record...

Greetings!

I have begun using FMP to Web-enable some databases. I have a VERY basic database for storing static IP address information for devices on the LAN at the school where I work.

I have created a "main" layout that opens when you start the DB. On this layout there is a button that is designed to take you to a "Browse" page that simply lists all of the IPs and devices. Problem is, when you press the button in FMP all is well - you get the complete list - but coming at it via a Web browser, you only see the first item in the list... Strange...

I tried creating a simple script for the button (rather than just using "Open Layout") that would open the layout, select "browse" mode, and then show all records.

Please tell me that I'm missing something painfully obvious here...

Thanks in advance for the help!!

Scott

BTW - I am using IWP, but this is the world's simplest database (5 fields!)...

As a semi-begging myself, I've struggled with some of these things. It appears FileMaker on the Web gives you only two choices: "Form View" (one record at a time) or "Table View." You're in luck, needing only only five fields. In your FM database, go to "Sharing" and click on "Web Companion" so you can press the "set up views" button. Under "table view" you can select the layout that you want to appear as a table. Then it will appear on the Web as a Table, instead of as Form View, and that should be the answer.

It sounds as if you added an extra level of complexity, by the way, with the button. Why not have the database simply open in what you refer to as the browse layout? And have that be the layout that appears on the web, as a table?

Good luck.

Ernie
