jodibee Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 Hi All, I have a database that needs to lookup values via calculations from one of three other databases. The dilemma is in dictating which relationship to use to lookup the required values. I use a value list to show which other database the required data is in but am not sure how to set the calculation to use the right relationship depending on the value selected from the value list. Does anyone have some ideas for me? Thanks in advance JB
Ugo DI LUCA Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 Play with this. A work around using 3 fields "choice A" "choice B" and "choice C" (with not allow entry checked) triggered by a script. Each has its own value list attached, and is selected through a script according to the value of another field. A calc make sure only one list is used. The result stays in your main field as a calculation based on the value selected in the value list. I used a button and a script you could use a "pause" (see the Forum for this other tip) to trigger the script when exiting a record. Certainly only a work around. Didn' really tested it so make sure there aren't too many errors in it. I just had a few minutes to play on this one.
Ugo DI LUCA Posted January 31, 2003 Posted January 31, 2003 Here it is without any button (the pause to trigger script).
