snekkis Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 Is there any script step for toggle between Kiosk-mode and desktop, actually a step for shortcuts Command+Tab/Alt+Tab instead. Thanks,
Rangoon Posted February 25, 2003 Posted February 25, 2003 Two questions, Do you use a Pc or mac and what is the purpose of it other than just getting to the desktop? hj
snekkis Posted February 25, 2003 Author Posted February 25, 2003 I use both, and the purpose will be if the user finds it odd not to have easy access to the desktop for toggling other app. It is an effort to try something in between Kiosk and the regular showing of the grayed out Filemaker menucommands.
Newbies Kasterlee Posted February 26, 2003 Newbies Posted February 26, 2003 For Mac I use the following Applescript: Tell application Finder Set the visible of process "Filemaker Pro" to false End tell For PC I use the "Show Desktop" application. HTH, Stef
snekkis Posted February 26, 2003 Author Posted February 26, 2003 Hi Stef, I have tried to put your step/branching or what your call it. I'm not familiar with applescript, but it say it is a syntax error in it. I'm running it in OS 10.2.3, and Script Editor 1.9
SteveB Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 While this may not be what you want, on Windows you can get to the task bar if it is hidden and then to any program. You might also be able to have WinBatch display the desktop under Windows. Steve
Rangoon Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Sorry to be so late in getting back to you. I no more than sent the first messge and I was called out of town so please excues me. Steve is correct, you have standard ways of getting to the desktop in both Pc's and Mac's. FileMaker does not offer a direct script. You can do so using 3rd party software assigning "hot keys" to perform the task and you may be able to find an Apple Script somewhere. Check at the Apple home page. hj
