bckwheat Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 I am having an issue that one field of data file of six fields is not showing in the Portal. I have made sure the file names are the same. It is probably obvious. anybody have any ideas. File enclosed Complaint Manager.zip
Lee Smith Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 Hi Bruce, How about a hint as to what field(s) in what file(s) on what layout(s) Are you referring to? Lee
Ugo DI LUCA Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 Your GL Data in Product Data is already a related record from pr data... Set it to be a lookup (in Product Data) from pr data and everything will work like a charm.
bckwheat Posted February 28, 2003 Author Posted February 28, 2003 The field in complaint managers portal is GL Number. It's related to Product data. Sorry about that. Many hours of no sleep . . .
bckwheat Posted February 28, 2003 Author Posted February 28, 2003 I guess I am not understanding the concept. Why are the other fields showing up?
Ugo DI LUCA Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 Well, you have a GL text field in your Product Data file, but you just set it to be a related field from prdata. So by definition, this field isn't a record from Product Data, while the 5 others are. Set your field in Product Data to be an autoentered lookup from Pr Data using the relationship prdata. When displaying the records from Product Data into your Portal in Complaint file, FM identified a field called GL (your text field) but did not recognized its value as it is not part of the related file (Product Data). Do you understand ?
bckwheat Posted March 1, 2003 Author Posted March 1, 2003 I did as requested and the data shows (Thanks), but in the layout mode the gl number (in product data) still shows a relationship (::. Will this be an issue? Again thanks, B.
Ugo DI LUCA Posted March 1, 2003 Posted March 1, 2003 Yes it is. Go in layout mode, doubleclick in the field and change relationship from prdata to currentfile. Same for weight I think
bckwheat Posted March 2, 2003 Author Posted March 2, 2003 Thanks for the help. I feel a little silly, I appreciate your help. Sleep deprivation IS all its cracked up to be.
